I Wrote a Book!
At the end of 2021 I felt like God had placed it on my heart to write my first book. How can we know when these “ideas” are really from God though? Well in my own experience, I feel like God asks you to do something you know deep down you were created to do, but you will also need to have a great deal of faith and trust in him during the process.
This journey has been one of faith and trust.
Initially, I had to put my writing plans on hold. When God gives you an idea it can easily feel like we need to respond immediately. However, instead God lead me further along on my own healing journey before I ever wrote a word of this book.
There needs to be a great deal of peace, confidence and assurance in God to embark on something like this. Hitting pause for a while to prepare my heart before beginning allowed me to fully uncover a lot of the deep areas of my heart that would hinder my writing and my message.
The enemy wants to minimize our impact, but completing that journey allowed me to enter in on this next phase unhindered. The writing. The editing. The design. Or what I would like to say is the most important part of writing: TRUSTING GOD.
I had to trust my ability and trust that God would meet me where he led me, and subsequently carry me through. Not every part of writing is easy or glamorous. It’s really a lot of days of just showing up at a messy desk and trusting that one word after another would string together an entire book.
And I actually wrote a book!!!!
